About Dr Jenni Suen

Deep expertise, delivered with genuine care.

Dr Jenni Suen is an Accredited Practising Dietitian and the founder of Cardiovascular Dietetics. She holds a PhD in nutrition and vascular disease, with over a decade of research experience in nutrition, healthy ageing and chronic disease care.

She started this practice because heart and vascular conditions deserve more than generic diet advice. Whether you've just been told your cholesterol is high, you're managing blood pressure, or you're recovering from a cardiac event, Jenni builds a plan around your health history, your medications and the food you eat.

Alongside seeing clients, Jenni is an academic at Flinders University.

Jenni also knows what it's like on the other side of the consultation. She lives with autoimmune conditions, managed through medical care and lasting changes to how she eats and lives. It's why she listens first, and why her plans fit real life rather than a textbook.

Outside of work, Jenni is a wife and mother who loves cooking for her family, reformer pilates, and volunteering in her community.

Our approach

A dietetic support structure built around you.

Every plan is shaped by who you are — your health, your goals and the realities of your daily life — so the changes we make are ones you can actually keep.

1

Your medical and nutritional picture

Every recommendation starts with your health, your age, your cardiovascular risk factors and the way you currently eat.

2

Expert knowledge

You get clear, evidence-based nutrition information specific to heart and blood vessel health — explained in plain language, so you understand what's happening in your body and why it matters.

3

Options to reach your goals

We map out the different ways you could get there, so you can choose the one that suits you.

4

Your lifestyle & preferences

Your tastes, routines, budget and cooking skills shape the plan — because the best plan is the one that fits your life.

No — new clients are welcome and no referral is needed for private paying consultations. If you have a referral from your doctor, it's helpful to share it, and it may be required to claim a Medicare rebate.
Yes. Online consultations let you access specialised vascular dietetic care from anywhere in Australia, without travel or waiting rooms. They run on your computer or mobile with no special software, and phone consultations are available on request.
If you have an eligible GP Chronic Disease Management (GP Plan), you pay the full fee and receive a Medicare rebate afterwards. Ask your GP whether you're eligible and mention that you'd like a referral to a dietitian.
Cover for dietetics depends on your policy and level of extras. Rebates for online consultations — which most funds list under “telehealth” — vary between insurers, so it's best to check directly with your provider. In-person claims can be processed on-site at the AVC clinic so you only pay the gap.
Fees are charged on the day of your consultation by Visa, Mastercard or American Express (debit or credit); a small card processing fee applies. For in-person appointments, the AVC admin team provides a quote when you book.
In-person consultations are held at the Advanced Vascular Care clinic, 647 South Road, Black Forest SA 5035, on Wednesdays, with on-site parking accessible from Forest Avenue. If Wednesday doesn't suit, the online clinic offers far more flexibility.
